As a licensed psychologist, I specialize in providing psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, children, families, and couples. I focus on creating a safe and supportive environment where patients can openly explore their thoughts and feelings. I help patients reflect on barriers to making changes while identifying approaches to altering patterns of thought and behavior afffecting them.
I am licensed in both the states of New York and Florida and I have specialized training in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, evidence-based treatments, play therapy, and family/marital therapy. My psychotherapeutic orientation is psychodynamic and I utilize approaches from cognitive-behavioral treatment as well. I am multi-lingual, and I provide services in English, Italian, and Spanish. I am proficient in French.
I have treated adults in outpatient and inpatient settings to address a variety of issues, including depression, anxiety, trauma, managing stressors, relationship, career and marital problems. My work with children and adolescents has involved helping them navigate a range of emotional, behavioral, and academic difficulties. I have worked in private and public schools and counseled parents to help them advocate for their children's needs.
I have worked in private practice for 15 years and I have held various positions outside of my practice, including as the lower and middle school psychologist at a private school in New York City. Prior to that, I worked in the Department of Pediatric Psychiatry at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Columbia University Medical Center, where I treated families and served as an Instructor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry. Throughout my early training and work, I treated adults, adolescents, children, and families across a range of facilities, including major hospitals, mental health clinics, and schools in New York City.
